Abstract

The present research is devoted to the investigation of the stories of Bahram V Sassanid, nicknamed Bahram Gur, in the book of Awfi's Tales of the Societies. Jawame ’Al-Hikayat book is one of the reliable books of Persian language, which has been less discussed due to its large volume.
Therefore, in order to show the similarities and differences between the stories in the narrative societies and the historical sources of the first category, we will compare the stories with four important Persian and Islamic sources (Tabari's history, Balami's history, Thaalabi's history, and Shahnameh). It seems that the main source of Bahram's stories in the storytelling societies is based on a historical narrative and Aufy has been able to create a new narrative by reducing or increasing it. The results of comparing Aufy's narrative with historical books show that some of Bahram Gur's stories are not found in the mentioned historical sources Or Aufy has simply rejected them and his main aim is to deal with the character of Bahram Gur as a positive character.
It should be mentioned that some stories and narrations about Bahram Gur have only appeared in the societies of legends and authentic historical books have not mentioned them. Our method in this thesis is to analyze each story and deal with their commonalities and differences.
